Using Airtable to Track Surgeon Preferences

I think I’ve found a better way to track surgeon preferences.

Keeping track of attending preferences in a modern, easy, organized way has been a challenge. Like other residents, I tried to write in a physical notebook, use a bunch of entries on my phone’s Notes app (or just one long entry), or search through a clunky collection of poorly curated Google docs. I’ve searched for solutions that could accommodate a few criteria:

  • Syncs to the cloud (I want my notes saved whenever and wherever I update them)

  • Quickly accessible on my phone (I want to be able to update my notes between cases without having to open more than one app, click more then 3 buttons, or scroll more than a few times.)

  • Crowd-sourced (I want to collaborate on shared notes with my co-residents)

  • Free, ideally

After sifting through a number of other options, I want to propose using the app Airtable for this purpose.

Note: I have no financial disclosures and receive nothing from this company or product.
